Context for Grounded by the Rock with Wings:
Remember, last fall you went on a camping road trip through northern New Mexico? Jamie set the itinerary. He was good at that. You weren’t. But you were good at experiencing things. So maybe it balanced out. Also: Bandit came with you.
You visited Shiprock pinnacle. You didn’t anticipate its power. You didn’t anticipate its affect on you. Shiprock is the real deal. You kept asking Jamie, “Can you feel it!?” ... “No,” he answered, “but I can appreciate you feeling it.” You alternated between giggling and hugging yourself, with falling to your knees almost sobbing. Eventually you did sob when you thought no one was looking. Shiprock stunned you. Shiprock blew your hair back. Shiprock blew your ghost hair back. Shiprock grounded you with the power of the earth to beyond and back again.
